Rap Songwriting Questions, Answered
Everything you need to know about the product, your rights as a creator, and how the rhyme engine makes you a better writer.
How does RhymeFlux's syllable tracking help my flow?
RhymeFlux counts the syllables of every line as you type. If you have a 12-syllable bar followed by a 19-syllable bar, that jump will likely throw your flow off over a beat. Our tracker lets you visually catch these rhythmic mistakes before you record, saving you time in the booth.
Does RhymeFlux detect slant rhymes?
Yes. RhymeFlux goes off how a word sounds, not how it is spelled, so it catches way more than "cat" and "hat". Rhyme Highlighting catches slant and near rhymes like "brain" and "flames" the moment you type them, and the Rhyme Finder pulls multi-syllable matches when you want a deeper list. Both are tuned for modern hip-hop and trap cadences.
Why shouldn't I just write rhymes in Apple Notes?
Standard notes apps have zero awareness of hip-hop structure. They don't color your rhyme schemes, count how packed each bar is, or hand you a rhyme when you're stuck. RhymeFlux turns the blank page into a purpose-built rap studio that shows you the rhythm of every bar.
Who owns the lyrics I write with the AI Co-Writer?
You do. 100%. Anything you brainstorm, draft, or generate using the RhymeFlux AI Co-Writer belongs entirely to you. We do not claim any royalties, publishing rights, or ownership over your creative work whatsoever.
Is there a limit on how many songs I can write?
On the free plan you get 1 active song with up to 3 sections (verse, hook, bridge, etc.), plus cloud sync across all devices. Lyrics are never truncated or locked, so you can write as much text as you want. Rhyme highlighting and the Pro tools light up on the first 12 bars of your first section so you can see them, then the text stays plain until you upgrade. On Pro it is unlimited songs, sections and lines so you can build a full catalog without hitting a wall.
Is RhymeFlux a mobile app or a desktop software?
Both. It opens in any browser with nothing to install, and there are apps on the App Store and Google Play. Write on the laptop in the studio, open the same song on your phone on the way home. Every draft saves itself.
Can I record directly inside the app?
Yes. RhymeFlux allows you to record scratch takes per line. You can record a vocal idea, listen back, and immediately rewrite the line without ever opening a separate DAW or Voice Memos app.
Can I export my lyrics and audio drafts?
Yes. On Pro you can export your lyrics as a .txt file grouped by song and section. Anyone (free or Pro) can download a copy of everything in their whole catalog and load it back in later. There's also a free IG-ready 1080×1350 PNG share image for any verse, and you can export individual recorded takes as audio files.
Can I play instrumentals while writing?
Yes. The built-in Beat Player lets you paste a YouTube link or drop in your own MP3 / WAV / M4A file, then loop it on or off. On free you get 15 minutes of beat playback a day. On Pro it is unlimited. Perfect for mobile writing. You don't need a YouTube Premium subscription to keep the beat playing while you write.
Are my unreleased songs private and secure?
Yes. Your songs and recordings live in your private account. Only you can access them. We never read what you write. The analytics we run only tracks basic stuff like when you sign in, save, or hit your streak. Nobody on our side is reading your unreleased verses.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. The basics, like writing bars, rhyme highlighting and syllable counting, keep working with no internet at all. On Pro you get a full week off-grid with everything switched on. Everything syncs back as soon as you're online.
Does the AI train on my lyrics?
No. We never use what you write to train AI, and we never sell or share it. When you ask the AI Co-Writer for a line, up to the previous eight lines of that song go to Google's Gemini API to generate that one suggestion, then they are dropped. Under Google's terms for the paid API tier, your input is not used to improve their models either. Nobody on our side reads your unreleased verses. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
What happens to my songs if I stop paying for Pro?
Nothing is deleted. Your songs stay in your account exactly as you left them, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. After that the free limits come back: you can open your 3 oldest songs, and rhyme colors plus the other Pro tools light up the first 12 bars of the first section. Songs beyond those 3 are locked, not gone, and they open again the moment you go Pro. Free or Pro, you can download a copy of every bar, version and section at any time, so your catalog is never trapped.
How long is the refund window?
14 days on every plan, including Lifetime. Email support@rhymeflux.com with your account email and we process it in 5 to 10 business days. After 14 days we do not issue refunds, but you can cancel any time and keep Pro until the billing period you already paid for runs out. See the refund policy for the per-plan detail.
Does RhymeFlux work in languages other than English?
The rhyme highlighting is built for English: US, UK, Australian, and Canadian accents. It won't catch rhymes accurately in Spanish, French, or other languages. The AI Co-Writer can brainstorm in multiple languages, but for full rhyme scanning and syllable counting, English gives you the best results. Try the free plan first to check it fits how you write.
